Mothers Day 2009

It was a day of reflection for me and a day to really reflect on what I could do better, what I am doing that is great and what more can I learn to correct my wrongs. I know everyday should be a day of reflection but today is more of a celebration for Mothers. I had a wonderful day with my boys. I made it to church on time!! What was really special is my Mother went with me. This was a blessing not only because she helped me with the kids but also went for herself. As most of you know I belong to the LDS Church(I will have to do a blog on that). Never knowing growing up that my Mom belonged to the church and was baptized when she was 14. It was to my surprise when I called my Mom to tell her of my decision to be baptized, she was the only person(on my side of the family) who not only congratulated me but encouraged me. I really reflected on that as my Mom and I drove to church. It was a lovely time and my Mom wants to come to Church with me every Sunday or at least try. I'm excited for her and for us for this will be a new journey for us together. I will have to admit I will like having her help in church for sometimes I struggle emotionally and physically taking 3 little ones to church alone..I'm blessed to be able to live in a Country where I can make the choice and that is something I remember quite often..
After church we took the kids to the beach where Zach and I and the boys could finish the day off with a free bounce house, games & bubbles. We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon together as a family and that was very nice fr all of us..

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.-Washington Irvin
