How to chase a chicken!

How to catch a chicken!

Almost there!

Ayden caught Poker a.k.a The General, he is the rooster keeping all the other ones in line.

Our one and only boy kitten that we named Thunder likes to hang out near the coop and the chickens!

We recently got some new Hens and a few new roosters.  We spent a good portion of the weekend fixing the coop to be secure from  all the critters. For a few nights the coop was good until a critter dug under and got 2 more hens.. So I've decided that all chickens go into the top of the coop at night. The critters have tried to pull apart the wood and are seriously bending the wood to try and get in.  I'm thinking the drought here is really affecting the other critters food supply. They are willing to do whatever it takes to get these chickens.  We now have at least 7 hens that will be laying. The hens I got are around the same age as the first batch that got killed.  The hens I just got go for around $9.00 vs.1.50 when they are small. Some hens already laying eggs go for 20.00. In the future I might sell chickens..

Some of the pictures on here loaded twice but I'm not going to worry about it.
